A song circle for people who say they cannot sing. Sanyu teaches four call-and-response songs from across Uganda, and the garden becomes one voice.

The Intentionality Pledge

Every host answers these before a gathering is published, and is held to them afterwards.

Why it exists

Singing together used to be ordinary. This circle makes it ordinary again.

The ritual

  • No audience: everyone sings
  • Learn every song by ear
  • Hold hands for the last song

The afterglow

On the ride home, you should feel Deeply Connected.

How the host measures success

The final song is sung without the leader.

The vibe

Four dimensions, set by the host and checked by our curators.

Exemplary (Pillar of Community)

Sanyu builds slow listening rooms from field recordings, Kiganda harp and long silences. Her gatherings start quietly and stay that way.
