Host a gathering

Tokutana publishes a small number of gatherings each month. If yours has a reason to exist and a promise about how people will feel when they leave, we would like to read about it.

All submissions undergo curatorial review before publication.

A curator reads every answer. If something needs more depth, we will ask you before anything is published.

What we look for

A reason to exist

Something a club night or a ticketed show cannot give people.

Rituals that shape the room

Ground rules that guests can feel: shoes off, phones away, a silent first half hour.

A promise you will keep

After each gathering we ask guests whether you delivered the afterglow you promised.

Step 1 of 4

The basics

Where and when, and how many people the room truly holds.

Step 2 of 4

The Intentionality Probe

The heart of every Tokutana gathering. Curators read these answers more closely than anything else.

The 1:00 AM afterglow: what should guests feel on the ride home?

Step 3 of 4

Calibrate the vibe

Be honest. A well-calibrated vibe brings you the right guests, not more guests. Guests use these to find gatherings that match them.

Step 4 of 4

Rituals and ground rules

The behaviours that make your gathering what it is. Guests see these before they come.
