Slow Walk to the Lake

An unhurried three-hour walk through Kampala's southern edge, ending with tea by the water.

We walk at the pace of the slowest walker, through back lanes, papyrus edges and small farms off Entebbe Road. Nina stops along the way for neighbours to tell us what has changed in their lifetimes.

We end at the lakeshore with tea and roasted maize as the sun drops.

The Intentionality Pledge

Every host answers these before a gathering is published, and is held to them afterwards.

Why it exists

To slow down enough to notice the city's edges and the people who have watched them change.

The ritual

  • Walk at the pace of the slowest walker
  • Phones away until the lake
  • Greet every neighbour we pass

The afterglow

On the ride home, you should feel Grounded & Centered.

How the host measures success

Nobody is left behind, and the group arrives at the lake together.

The vibe

Four dimensions, set by the host and checked by our curators.
